SMT V: Vengeance greatly reworks the original game’s soundtrack while adding more songs
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is set to make its debut on the Nintendo Switch on June 14th, 2024, promising an abundance of new content compared to its original release. GameSpot recently had the opportunity to speak with members of the development team behind Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, who revealed insights into the changes made to the game’s music. According to the team, around 80% of the songs from the original release have been re-done, with the addition of 20 new battle themes. This means that players can expect familiar tunes to be significantly altered, alongside the introduction of entirely new compositions to enhance the overall gaming experience.
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance aims to cater to both existing fans of the franchise and newcomers alike. Players will have the choice to embark on two distinct paths at the beginning of the game: either follow the original storyline from Shin Megami Tensei V, known as the Canon of Creation, or opt for the brand-new Canon of Vengeance. The latter option introduces a fresh narrative centered around revenge, featuring new characters, an enigmatic group of demons called the QadiĊĦtu, a new dungeon, and an expanded map for players to explore. Furthermore, the battle system, demon merging mechanics, and field exploration have all been improved and expanded upon in this latest entry in the Shin Megami Tensei series.
