May 24, early morning
-------------------------------------
Trukai awoke early that day, after having a fretful sleep.Could I really die today?.He asked himself this, thinking, what exactly death would mean for him. It'll sure put an end to my career, he thought, and then, could there really be an afterlife? This idea was somewhat comforting but he had his doubts about it; as he had had doubts about many things in his life. Why have I been put in here, and will I find out before I... die?He realized he didn't want to die an ignorant death, he didn't want to die at all!
I have to find some way to overpower the guards... or escape. Both guards were slumbering on their rough cots by the door, so Trukai reasoned, It has to be early in the morning, and if only there was a window or something in here, then I would know.
But then, all of a sudden he felt a cool, gentle breeze, But-but I thought there was no windows down here, that's strange, but all of a sudden his thinking was interrupted by the sound, then shortly after, the image, of a guard from upstairs tumbling down the stone steps, his armor clinking noisily as he hit a wall and collapsed, dead. The noise aroused the other guards immediately, but a figure, or rather a silhouette in this dim lighting came into view, sword ready, and decapitated one guard just getting off his plain, linen cot, but the other was faster, taking advantage of the time the silhouette had lost, immediately drew his saber and engaged in battle with the figure, and intense duel swelling up, but the battle never reached its' climax, for it never lasted half a minute, the dark figure winning it.
The guard was then cast aside next to his friends' corpse and the figure advanced to Trukais' cell. "Don't come near me, I'm still not totally useless don't you know" It was an idle threat, since the figure, he could now see, had the armor of a samurai and was armed with a fine katana now streaked with blood, and apparently, he could use it quite well."Relax" said the samurai in a voice, Trukai thought there was something strange about."I'm here to help" He continued, bending over one of the guards, to retrieve the cell keys from his waist, the keys jingling as they approached him attached to the samurai still dark hand.
Jingle! He thought, and almost chuckled. Jingle! What was a cheery little word like that doing in a dark, damp place like this?"Ah, Jingle"Trukai sighed "what did you say?" "Oh, oh nothing"then remembering something, he asked, "how did you get that sword past the city gate?you look... well a bit foreign and there are no authorized weapons sales for civilians in this city." "I simply concealed it very well...along with handing over half a dozen shuriken, a knife, and a different katana" The door creaked open slightly, Trukai pushed it just a bit more, an then he was free!
Well, at least as free as you could be in a dungeon with a castle full of soldiers, probably still under orders to either arrest him, or kill him."Come on lets get out of here fast" the samurai said,"by the way I'm Zypherlink" he said in that strange voice. Have i heard it before? Trukai asked himself, no, I guess i couldn't have ."Well we've got a lot to do if we still want to get out of here" Zeypherlink recited. "alright, my name is Tru-" He was cut off "We know your name" he said "and like I told you earlier we have a lot of work to do".
