Nintendo's probably nervous about the direction to take Pokemon. They know that if they keep doing the same thing, consumers will become uninterested, but if they invest a lot of money into something that phails, then fans will back away from the franchise, and, with all the competition with Sony and MS, not to mention the importance of the Pokemon franchise to Nintendo, could potentially ruin them. After all, Pokemon Stadium, Collosseum,

, and all the other spin-offs haven't done nearly as well as the main product (ie. Red, Gold, Ruby, Pearl, etc.), so why try something new when the series is still thriving?
