That's a good point, but since the two-party system exists, another huge issue could come up and divide the nation. Some people compare abortion as "the next slavery", as it really is a controversial issue. But the problem is not the issue, it's really the concept of self-righteousness in all these parties. If they weren't so polarized, hate shouldn't come from either side.

America need a stronger political education system. People need to actually discuss the matter at hand, rather than opposing a party.

Yes. That, along with doing away with "mainstream" assumptions. One of the worst ones, IMO, is the anti-abortion "pro-life" slogan they use.

/mini rant.

^Stuff like death panels and "Obama is a Socialist" (which isn't even a bad thing, necessarily) are definitely annoying.

Abortions is just a debate that... I don't think anyone is going to win. The line is just too unclear.

But if nobody wins the abortion debate, then the Pro-Choice-ers technically win, don't they? After all, the big change that was possibly to take place was the BAN on abortion, so not doing anything would favor the Pro-Choice option.

My state needs better people in the government offices. Not only does nothing get done, but they were too stupid to recognize that gay marriage was a Civil Rights issue, and therefore demands verdict by Kansas Supreme Court, not popular vote. Of course equality wouldn't fly in this darned Conservative Republican state.....

I've thought of abortions sometimes like slavery. It was heavily argued, but then at some point it was banned. And of course, it has stayed banned. Abortion sounds something like that. I've wondered if maybe it's inevitable that pro-life wins (even though I, myself, am pro-choice).

A troop increase would be the only viable option. If we take all of our troops out now, the situation crumbles. Adding more troops can drastically decrease the length of time spent in Afghanistan; of course, the best option would have been to not go there in the first place, but oh well...

If we're pulling out of Iraq it'll even out. Besides, Osama Bin Laden is near there, unlike Iraq.

Yeah, but if he's there, don't you think they'd move him to that country with nukes: Iran? After all, the Taliban loves al Qaeda, and the Taliban has a large margin of control in Iran.

Iran helped us during the war in Iraq. Besides, Osama isn't there. Therefore, we don't invade Iran. Case closed.
