The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii Review) by Link-NM
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is both, the first Wii game, and the last game Nintendo did for GameCube. This review contains points that are shared by both versions and some that are only of the Wii version. It's also worth mentioning that in the Wii version, it's the first time Link is "right"-handed.
Gameplay 10/10
The gameplay of Wii version of Twilight Princess is actually pretty good. The controls feel good, mapped to the correct location on the Wii Remote + Nunchuk combo. There's no delay on the motion based controls, and they respond correctly like they should. Also, aiming with the Wii Remote Pointer is really nice.
Story 10/10
The story is interesting and will keep you interested in wanting to continue playing the game to know what will happen and what areas you will explore next. There's a good amount of character development in the game, specially with Midna.
Graphics 9.5/10
The graphics are nice, and the game supports progressive scan mode and widescreen. It also runs at a constant 60 FPs, with no slowdown at all, which is really nice. Still, it's not exactly what you would call the best graphics on the Wii. Probably of the best on GameCube, but not on Wii.
Sound 9.8/10
Impressive music. The soundtrack of this game is definitly one of the best VG soundtracks. Still, since this was also on GCN, the music doesn't reach it's full potential as it should. There's no orchestrated music, which would've made this game's music definitly worthy of getting the perfect ten. There's also the cool effect that some of the sound effects are played through the Wii Remote's speaker.
Single-Player 9.7/10
Twilight Princess is a great adventure title. You'll surely be enjoying it during the long time you play it. Sadly.. the great improvements on the gameplay, may make it that the enemies seem too easy.
Multi-Player N/A
No multiplayer in this game.
Secrets/Unlockables 9/10
There's a bunch of secrets to find in the game, most of them which have cool rewards. Something that will definitly keep you busy for a while.
Replay Value 8.5/10
The game will last for a good while, and then you'll want to finish your file with every secret found, which will make you keep playing for more time. Still, there's not much after you've found everything. No special second playthrough this time.
Twilight Princess is a really good game and must-have for Wii. Highly recommended for everyone.
9.7/10
