December 14, 2010, by Carl B. - The Super NES was part of what gamers often call the "Golden Years" of gaming, when creative gameplay and beautiful 16-bit visuals made up most of the games released in the generation. The SNES was packed with a plethora of all-around fantastic games, but one factor that really set the system apart from the competition was the outstanding music that many of the games featured. Out of hundreds of tracks, which are the best from the SNES?
11. Lufia II: Rise of the Sinstrals - Boss Battle Theme
10. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - Overworld Theme
9. Chrono Trigger - Frog's Theme
8. Final Fantasy VI - Battle Theme
7. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - Hyrule Castle
6. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - Opening
5. Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong's Quest - Stickerbrush Symphony
4. Final Fantasy VI - Dancing Mad
Part Two
Part Three
Part Four
3. Chrono Trigger - To Far Away Times
2. StarFox - Corneria
1. Final Fantasy VI - Terra's Theme
Terra's theme from Final Fantasy VI (III outside of Japan) is easily the greatest soundtrack in any SNES game and is one of the best all-time. The track provides a sense of adventure for players while still sounding somewhat sad, making it a perfect theme for Terra's character.
